132: Voice Wars

“Are you lame?”, said my dear friend Eko. “Have you forgotten how
appalled you were before ?”, he cried.

“Oh, you are going to tell me to abort my aspirations, are you?”, I asked. “I
realize I have to work astronomically hard and I’m fearful I will not have the
strength but I am the one that is not quitting.” I continued. “Yes, I was appalled by my situation before and I dare to come over it “, I expressed.

“That’s all silly talk and you wander around with silly goals. How is it
possible to voice your side when you do not have words? You will be
sacked in sadness and will come running back to your bed. I am basically
guarding you my friend”, declared Eko.

“Eko the Lego,” as I call him with love, “I am so grateful for having a caring
friend like you and I am assuring you I am confident I can show my voice to
the world. You see, I have a brilliant idea.” I said.

“A brilliant idea? I am skeptical of your brilliant ideas my friend,
nevertheless I am all ears “ , Eko exclaimed.

“Well, the magic of the words has many forms. Each person has a different
voice and different woes in sharing their voice. Some are shy, some could
be really bold but forgetful and some others may not have all the skills to
speak . But Eko my friend, everyone can share their voice. When there is a
will, there is a way.” I preached.

“Enough of the pep talk, preachy pal; get to the point. And it has to pass my
scrutiny “, he challenged.

“I am going to write and share my thoughts, my intellect, my opinions, my
advice, my questions and my voice !!!” I announced.

“I can write once and I can talk to many. And the magic of my voice is also
heard. I don’t think you can debate the fact that this is an amazing and
brilliant idea “, I proudly said.

Eko thought at length to debate and debunk. A few days passed and each
of us went on with our routine. And one day it was just us. Eko totally forgot
about it, but I asked him what he thought.

Apparently he didn’t forget, he was waiting for the right moment.

“I have thought about your idea enormously and I think it’s worth a shot. I
warn you it’s going to be a long uphill ride and may take you gigantic effort
to achieve your goal. What is your motivation for this ordeal? “ he asked
curiously.

I was finally getting to see questions that left me pondering deep.

“Everyone has a need to belong and belongingness comes out of
camaraderie and friendship. One needs to share his voice to achieve this.
With this one finds one’s recognition” , I whispered.

“That’s profound and I am with you all the way. Don’t be scared. We can be
smart from learning from each other and leaving our voice with each other.
Share your voice my friend, one written word at a time!!!”, affirmed my dear
friend, my inner voice, Eko!
